“Embarking on a weight loss journey is a challenging yet rewarding endeavor.In January this year, I made a commitment to myself to shed those stubborn pounds and achieve a healthier lifestyle. Not only was I determined to lose weight, but I was also motivated by the diagnosis of Grade 2 fatty liver to take charge of my health. Through a combination of discipline, dedication, and lifestyle changes, I successfully went from 92 kilograms to 80 kilograms in just three months,” Partha told TOI Lifestyle and shared his weight loss journey.
Intermittent fasting
One of the key components of my weight loss journey was intermittent fasting. I adopted a pattern of eating within a specific window of time each day, usually between noon and 8pm This helped me control my calorie intake and improved my metabolism, leading to effective weight loss.
20-minute morning walk
Starting my day with a refreshing 20-minute morning walk was not only a great way to boost my metabolism but also served as a form of low-impact exercise. It helped me kick start my day on a positive note and set the tone for a healthy lifestyle ahead.
40-minute workout
Regular exercise played a crucial role in my weight loss journey. I dedicated 40 minutes each day to a combination of cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises. This routine not only helped me burn calories but also tone my body and increase my overall fitness levels.
Avoiding meat and meat products
I made a conscious decision to avoid meat items such as chicken, pork, and mutton during my weight loss journey. This shift not only helped me reduce my calorie intake but also improved my overall health and well-being.

“Before incorporating this fasting routine into my daily life, I was dealing with high uric acid levels. After three months of intermittent fasting, I successfully reached my weight loss goal and have since returned to my regular eating habits. But I no longer consume meat as avoiding meat helped me to limit my food intake,” said Partha.
Talking about intermittent fasting, he said, “During the initial phase of intermittent fasting, it’s common to experience low energy levels for about a week. However, these levels tend to adjust after a few days. I found that consuming black coffee helps provide an extra boost of energy during the fasting period. Now, walking for 20 minutes each morning has become an integral part of my lifestyle, and I am pleased to say that I have been able to maintain my weight and I am leading a healthy life now.”
