Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan enjoyed the unique styling of the late Rohit Bal for multiple seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati, and back in 2012, he shared his exhilaration regarding this collaboration and almost confirmed that he too was a longstanding admirer of this designing legend.
Rohit Bal, a highly esteemed figure in Indian fashion, has sadly passed away at the age of 63 due to a heart attack, as confirmed on Friday. During his remarkable career, he crafted stunning outfits for numerous celebrities, including Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai, and, of course, Amitabh Bachchan. In May 2012, Amitabh expressed his enthusiasm on social media, revealing his delight at being styled by Rohit for yet another season of the beloved quiz show.
Reflecting on his experience, Amitabh tweeted at the time, “The designing of the look on KBC by Rohit ‘Gudda’ Bal… just lifts your spirits when you wear his outfits… that jacket… hmmm.” His appearances on the show showcased chic suits and jackets created by Rohit, contributing to the show’s distinctive persona.

Renowned designer Rohit Bal celebrated for blending traditional Indian aesthetics with modern style, passed away at 63 after a prolonged heart condition. Known for his signature peacock motifs and luxurious designs, Bal leaves behind a legacy that reshaped Indian fashion globally.

The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) released a heartfelt statement on Instagram mourning the loss of this legendary designer: “Known for his unique blend of traditional patterns with modern sensibilities, Bal’s work redefined Indian fashion, inspiring generations.”
Sunil Sethi, chairman of the FDCI, shared his thoughts on Instagram, noting that the void left by Rohit, affectionately known as Gudda, would be felt forever in the fashion design realm. “Everyone admired his attention to detail, the exquisite way his lotus bloomed on modern shapes, and his keen understanding of contemporary women’s desires,” Sethi expressed.

“It’s true that he has passed away due to cardiac arrest,” Sunil confirmed to a media channel. “Rohit was a legend, and we are deeply shaken. We’re currently finalizing arrangements for his cremation tomorrow.” Rohit had recently been hospitalized at Aashlok Hospital in Safdarjung Enclave, where he received treatment from Dr. Alok Chopra.
