Former cricketer Vinod Kambli’s health has been a matter of concern among all cricket lovers and fans and followers of the cricketer. As per a report, going viral on social media, Vinod Kambli has been admitted following a diagnosis of clots in the brain.
Vinod Kambli was admitted to a hospital on Saturday due to deterioration in his health. The 52-year-old was brought to the hospital by one of his fans who also owns the hospital in Bhiwandi’s Kalher area in Thane district and his condition is said to be stable, even though the exact reasons for his hospitalisation could not be ascertained at that time.

What causes clots in the brain?

Clots in the brain, also referred to as brain or cerebral thrombosis, are caused by the formation of a blood clot within one of the arteries in the brain that blocks blood supply to a particular area of the brain. The major cause of these clots is the formation of fatty deposits (atherosclerosis) in the arteries, which eventually leads to narrowing or hardening of the blood vessels. This reduces blood flow and increases the chances of clotting.

Some contributing factors to forming clots in the brain are hypertension, diabetes mellitus, smoking, and cholesterol buildup because all these, after years of use and existence in the body, may harm the blood vessel wall by making a clot. Other serious risk factors include heart problems, more particularly an atrial fibrillation wherein an irregular beating can produce clot formation in the heart and lead it to reach the brain. Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, and other blood clotting disorders, and even genetic conditions, may increase the likelihood of clots.
In some cases, brain clots result from a rupture or tear in the blood vessel, causing bleeding in the brain, which further increases the chance of clotting. These clots can lead to strokes, which may cause permanent damage to the brain, affecting motor skills, speech, and cognitive function, depending on the area of the brain impacted.
