Many bank robbery incidents come to light where theives come under disguise and take a handful from the bank, they are then chased for stealing precious bank property and held culprit. However in contrast to such incidents, the thieves in Haryana’s Rewari district attempted to rob a local bank but ended up with a hilarious and unimportant loot.
The incident occurred on Saturday night in Kosli town, where the robbers broke into a Central Bank of India branch, with an intention to steal money or valuables. However, instead of making off with cash, they could only loot a few inconsequential items, including papers, printers, batteries, and other miscellaneous equipment.Their heist took a particularly humorous twist when the robbers mistook a passbook printing machine for an ATM, as revealed by CCTV footage . The culprits entered the bank by cutting through a window grille and made several unsuccessful attempts to breach the strong room. The theives then got frustrated on their inability to enter the premises and left out aling three printers, four batteries, and the DVR after disabling the CCTV cameras by cutting the wires.
The break-in was found out the following morning by local villagers, who quickly informed the authorities. The police, upon examining the CCTV footage, were left amused by the robbers’ blunder. According to various reports avialable online, a case has been registered, and the authorities are diligently analysing the footage to identify the thieves and bring them to justice.
Previously there have been some of the most humorous bank robbery incidents that are too funny to believe. In Guwahati a burglar broke into a house and stopped to cook khichdi because he was hungry, ultimately getting caught in the process. In Noida, a gang of robbers took their time in several houses, cooking pakoras and raiding the fridge, leaving behind paan stains for the homeowners to clean up.
Another odd episode occurred in Andhra Pradesh, where a thief trying to steal from a temple got stuck in a small hole in the wall during his escape attempt, and was caught by the locals who found him. An incident also occurred in Vellore where a van thief was nabbed when his stolen vehicle stopped, became unfunctional and he unknowingly asked plainclothes policemen for assistance. Despite the serious nature of such crimes, the absurdity of these events adds a humorous twist to the typically grim topic of bank robberies.
