January 2025 Bank Holidays List:

  • January 1, 2025: Banks closed in Aizawl, Chennai, Gangtok, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Kolkata and Shillong for New Year’s Day, Loosong or Namsoong. January 2, 2025: Aizawl and Gangtok observe Loosong/Namsoong/New Year.
  • January 6, 2025: Chandigarh banks closed for Sri Guru Gobind Singh’s birthday.
  • January 11: Aizawl and Imphal observe Missionary Day/Imoinu Iratpa.
  • January 14, 2025: Banks close in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Hyderabad (Telangana), Itanagar, Kanpur and Lucknow for Makar Sankranti/Uttarayana Punyakala/Pongal/Maghe Sankranti/Magh Bihu/Birthday of Hazarat Ali.
  • Chennai banks observe Thiruvalluvar Day on January 15, 2025, and Uzhavar Thirunal on January 16, 2025.
  • January 23, 2025: Banks in Agartala, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata close for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary and Vir Surendrasai Jayanti.
