While there is immense excitement for Ranji Trophy, Virat Kohli’s return to the game, after almost 13 years, has sparked great interest among his fans. With this, every detail of the cricketer is being discussed widely. For example, his lunch menu is going viral over social media.
As per Chef Sanjay Jha, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) canteen owner, Virat’s lunch will be desi, easy on the tummy and rich in protein. “In lunchtime, Virat Kohli will have chilli paneer ordered from the local DDCA canteen,” the Chef has told the media and the video is going viral over social media.
“Virat Kohli wanted to have Chilli Paneer, so his manager called and ordered the dish for him. Yesterday he ordered Kadhi Chawal,” Jha told TimesofIndia.com in an interview.
Paneer is an excellent food choice for those looking to maintain high energy and peak performance during a match. Paneer is a rich source of casein protein that provides a sustained release of amino acids. It helps in repairing and recovering from the muscles that have been damaged after long hours on the field. The content of protein further supports muscle strength, endurance, and overall athletic performance.
Cricket is a physically demanding sport that requires endurance, strength, and quick reflexes, making proper nutrition essential. Since cricket matches can last for hours, maintaining steady energy levels is crucial. Paneer has a good balance of protein and fats, which provide a slow and sustained release of energy, preventing sudden dips in performance. Unlike high-carb snacks that cause energy crashes, paneer keeps energy levels stable.
Cricket involves a lot of running, quick movements, and impact on joints. Paneer has good amounts of calcium and phosphorus, which enhances strong bones and minimizes the chances of cracking or stress fractures from injuries. These minerals are requisite for the health of joints and muscles while competing strenuously in matches.
Paneer is easier to digest. It helps players stay fuller for longer, allowing them not to have unhealthy snacking unnecessarily. The healthy fats in paneer help regulate metabolism as well as stamina.
Paneer can be consumed in various forms, such as grilled paneer, paneer sandwiches, or paneer salads, making it a versatile option for cricketers. Eating it before a match ensures sustained energy, while post-match consumption aids muscle recovery.
