The layered necklace Rekha wore was an absolute showstopper, perfectly complementing her stunning ensemble at Siddharth and Neelam’s wedding. The design mirrored the one Priyanka wore during her Hindu wedding ceremony, crafted from white gold and adorned with magnificent pear-shaped diamonds. This timeless piece of jewelry was designed by the renowned fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
When Priyanka wore this necklace at her wedding in 2018, designer Sabyasachi shared that it took a staggering 3,720 hours to create. The necklace was inspired by the opulence of Mughal-era jewelry and featured uncut diamonds, emeralds, and Japanese cultured pearls set in 22K gold. The intricate design also included tiny stars made of uncut diamonds, adding a touch of whimsy to the otherwise traditional piece.
Sabyasachi had described the wedding jewellery as a tribute to Mughal craftsmanship, noting its delicate yet grand details. The necklace, with its regal design, perfectly suited Priyanka’s bridal look and has clearly continued to inspire with its timeless beauty, evident in Rekha’s heartfelt tribute to the Chopra-Jonas wedding.
